The Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to a multi-vehicle accident Tuesday on I-40 in Roane County. The report released this morning states a 1998 International dump truck driven by 26-year-old Austin C. Wiseman of Sweetwater, a 2021 BMW operated by 71-year-old Jimmie Ray Humphres of Ft. Myers, Florida, and a 2018 Nissan Altima controlled by 39-year-old Felecia Y Pirtle of Humbolt, Tennessee were all traveling east in the left lane at the 342 mile marker. Humphres and Pirtle slowed for approaching heavy traffic when Wiseman struck Humphres automobile in the rear resulting in the BMW contacting the Nissan. All three drivers were restrained and not hurt.
