COMEDIAN JON REEP ARRESTED FOR SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF A MINOR

Comedian Jon Reep, who performed in Harriman last week, was arrested on several counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
Reep is a 53-year-old Hickory, North Carolina native is best known for winning NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” in 2007 and for roles in shows like “Eastbound & Down,”. He was arrested on September 5, 2025, following a grand jury indictment on one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and nine counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
The charges stem from an investigation initiated by the Hickory Police Department after an April 15, 2025, cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding child sexual abuse material linked to Reep’s account. A search warrant led to the seizure of electronic devices, and forensic analysis supported the case presented to the Catawba County District Attorney’s office.
Court documents later revealed the alleged offenses involved minors aged 1 to 14. Reep was arrested without incident, appeared before a magistrate in Newton, and was released after posting a $260,000 secured bond. The arrest, which has shocked fans given Reep’s public persona, prompted the rescheduling of a comedy show in Goldsboro.
The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities urging the public to avoid spreading unverified information and to contact the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office with any relevant details.
