A sex offender from Johnson City labeled violent appeared in Cumberland County General Sessions Court yesterday. Court officials say 59-year-old Thomas Jefferson Lance faces three counts of violating the sex offender registry. Lance was appointed a public defender and will return to court August 8. Lance was convicted in 1997 for attempt to commit rape and incest.
