Omar Armengol Cortes, 20, has been charged with especially aggravated kidnapping following the domestic-related incident that happened on Monday in West Knoxville.

The victim reported that Cortes, who is her boyfriend, shoved her out of her car and drove away with her 4-year-old daughter inside of the car following a domestic dispute. The child was found safe and the car was found abandoned a short time later. Cortes was taken into custody by responding Knoxville Police department officers outside of the West Town mall.

Cortes was charged with especially aggravated kidnapping after being interviewed by KPD special crimes unit detectives.
