The Cumberland County Commission met on Monday to elect members to several positions as well as appoint several people to various committees.

Allen Foster was re-elected unanimously to the Chairman position for another term lasting one year, while Terry Lowe was elected 11-5 to Chairman pro-tem also for one year, Nancy Hyder was elected to County Commission Parliamentarian for another year, Deborah Holbrook was elected to the ethics committee taking over Greg Maxwell’s position for two years.

Deborah Holbrook, Chris King, George Harrison, Valorie Cox, and Josh Selby were appointed to the Ethics Committee for a term lasting until September 30th, 2025.

Sonya Rimmer was re-appointed to the Tri-County Industrial Development Board of Cumberland, Morgan, and Roane Counties, to fill her expired term, set to expire September 30th, 2030.

Nathan Brock was appointed to fill an expired term on the Regional Planning Commission lasting until August 31, 2028.

Philip D. Burnett was re-appointed to the position of County Attorney for a term lasting October 31, 2026.
