COUPLE CHARGED AFTER BREAKING INTO 22 STORAGE UNITS

On December 26, just before 3 PM, a male and a female traveling in a maroon PT cruiser came to Exit Rocky Top Reality and broke into 22 storage units. Upon reviewing the video footage, city officers were able to get the license plate of the car and began to be on the lookout.

On December 31, officers recognized the PT Cruiser traveling on Genesis Road. After a traffic stop was initiated, the driver was identified as 36-year-old Nicole Ambrose. While speaking with Ms. Ambrose, the officer observed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. After consenting to search the vehicle, the officer found what is believed to be marijuana and a firearm.  Ambrose is a felon and is not allowed to be in possession of a firearm.  According to the police report, Nicole Ambrose alleged the firearm was David Frye’s who was also with her during the burglary of the storage units.

After making contact with David Frye, he alleged he was at the storage units with Nicole Ambrose. He told officers the storage buildings looked abandoned and that everything inside of them was junk.

David Frye was charged with Burglary. His bond is set at $40,000.

Nicole Ambrose was charged with Burglary, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Simple Possession. Her bond is $83,000.

The owners of the storage units are still working on a list of all the damages and missing items.
