CRASH REPORT TURNS INTO DUI ARREST

Yesterday, Lieutenant Dustin Lester of the Crossville Police Department responded to a crash on Highway 127 South. The caller said they were following the vehicle that had hit her almost head-on, they were traveling outbound on Genesis Road and swerving all over the road.
Lieutenant Lester made contact with the vehicle and the driver identified as Jovanny Molina Ramirez. Ramirez was asked out of the car, and Lieutenant Lester said he had the odor of alcohol upon him.
An empty 40 oz beer was found in the passenger seat. When asked how many drinks he had, Ramirez said he had three.
Due to his inability to speak English, his dangerous driving, his crash, and his alcohol consumption, he was placed under arrest for DUI and driving without a license.
A search warrant was granted for a blood draw and Ramirez was taken to the emergency room at Cumberland Medical Center.
