Crossville Police were called the Pilot Travel Center on Genesis Road Wednesday for a report of a ‘card skimmer installed on one of the gas pumps. Credit card skimmers are devices that criminals attach to ATMs, gas pumps, and any other payment terminals to steal your card’s information.  Upon arrival at the Pilot, the manager told police he had been notified by the security company that there was possibly a card skimmer installed on pump 20.  The manager checked the pump and indeed found a card skimmer installed.  He removed the device and turned it in to the police.  Surveillance video cameras are located at the Pilot Center but were at the wrong angle to view that particular gas pump.  No suspects have been named.
