The City of Crossville has been awarded a grant to implement a comprehensive wayfinding signage system in its downtown area. The project aims to enhance navigation and accessibility by installing clear, visually appealing signs that will guide residents and visitors to key destinations, local businesses, parking areas, and points of interest. Officials describe the initiative as part of a larger effort to support economic development, tourism, and community engagement, ultimately creating a more welcoming and inviting downtown experience that encourages exploration. Proposed signage designs are available for viewing at the City Clerk’s office in City Hall.

In tandem with the wayfinding improvements, volunteers from Downtown Crossville Inc. are upgrading existing planters by adding benches, decorative sculptures, seasonal plantings, and integrated signage to beautify public spaces and create more inviting gathering areas. Work on both the signage system and planter enhancements has already begun and is expected to be completed by the end of summer.
