CROSSVILLE CITY COUNCIL APPROVES BOTTLE ROCKET AND BUS RESTRICTION ORDINANCES

The Crossville City Council voted yesterday to approve 27 of 28 items on the agenda as well as approve Landon Headrick to serve on the Cumberland Plateau Water Authority.

Following Headrick’s appointment, the Chamber of Commerce spoke on the chamber’s growth, upcoming ribbon-cutting events, tourism submitting a marketing grant to the state, and participation in the Middle Tennessee Industrial Development Association annual conference.

Among the larger approvals were the permitting of the sale of bottle rockets within city limits, and the approval of an ordinance that would restrict the ability of corporate-owned charter buses to drop off clients at areas that are not established places of business.

Some of the other approved items concerned things such as: creating guidelines for Storm Water Management, amending the City Municipal code regarding Rules of the Road, Chapter 5 of the Crossville Municipal Code regarding Business Signs and Outdoor Advertising, a budget amendment, and approving amendments to the Water and Sewer Connections and Main Line Extension ordinance.

The only agenda item not approved concerned the extension of Interstate Drive which was requested to be pulled by city attorney Randall A. York.
