CROSSVILLE CITY COUNCIL SAYS “YES” TO TAP GRANT
Wednesday, the Crossville City Council started the “ball rolling” on receiving a $1.3 million Transportation Alternatives Program Grant from the state. The grant from the Tennessee Dept. of Transportation is designed to help communities perform repairs on pedestrian and bicycle right-of-ways, pedestrian signals and street lights. City Manager Greg Woods told the council that the grant has been scrutinized for what is acceptable for TDOT and what is not. A motion was made to apply for the grant, which is an 80/20 match. An extra $40,000 was added to the motion to assist with pedestrian signals. That motion passed unanimously on first reading.
