CROSSVILLE FIRE HALL 2 CONSTRUCTION LAGS BEHIND SCHEDULE

The Crossville Chronicle reports that Rodgers Spencer from Upland Design Group reported at the Crossville City Council’s work session that construction on the second fire hall, which began on November 4, is behind schedule. Spencer noted that the sprinkler system installation is set for the following week, with concrete and paving to follow, weather permitting.

He conducts regular inspections to ensure the work meets code standards, closely monitoring tasks like sheetrock and flooring installation. The contractor has requested 41 additional days due to weather, pushing the completion date to January 19 of the next year, though Spencer is pushing for an earlier finish.

Councilman Mark Fox expressed concern about nine days when he observed no workers on site, despite favorable weather, and questioned the reason for the absence. Spencer admitted he was unsure of the cause, suggesting it might be due to delays in equipment delivery for excavation, and promised to investigate further.

Fox requested Spencer provide a construction update at the next month’s council meeting.
