CROSSVILLE FIRE TRUCK HIT BY CAR ON SATURDAY; NO INJURIES

On Saturday, shortly before noon, a Cumberland County Fire and Rescue fire truck was traveling south on Highway 127, approaching the intersection with Genesis Road. The fire truck, responding to a call with emergency lights and siren activated, had a red traffic signal but did not stop to clear the intersection.
At the same time, a silver 2021 Chevrolet Trax, driven by Deborah Faye Duvall, was traveling west on Genesis Road and was stopped at the intersection’s traffic light. As the side traffic light turned green, Duvall entered the intersection, unable to stop in time, and collided with the rear tire area of the fire truck.
The crash caused significant damage to the front of Duvall’s vehicle and damaged the fire truck’s tire and fender.
