CROSSVILLE MAN ARRESTED AFTER GIVING FAKE NAME TO AVOID DOG-AT-LARGE CITATION

On November 19, 2025, in Crossville, Cumberland County Deputy Morgan Alvarez responded with Animal Control to a repeated complaint of a dog from Miller Ct chasing cows at a neighboring property on Hwy 70 N. Upon contacting the resident, a male identified himself as “Zayd Miller-Bay VII” and was initially cooperative while being issued a citation for allowing animals to run at large.
However, dispatch was unable to locate any record under that name. After the deputy left, dispatch discovered the individual’s true identity was Na’im Ansari Jackson, age 48, with the same address and matching booking photo. The original citation was voided, and warrants were obtained for criminal impersonation and allowing animals to run at large. Corporal Brandon Griffin subsequently stopped Jackson’s vehicle, placed him under arrest, and transported him to the Cumberland County Jail. During booking, Jackson again provided the false name “Zayd Miller-Bay” before being corrected.
A criminal history check revealed Jackson had prior felony convictions from 2000 in another state and a 2023 conviction for criminal impersonation in another jurisdiction. He was booked on both new charges with bonds set at $2,500 and $1,500 respectively and a court date of December 22, 2025.
