CROSSVILLE MAN ARRESTED IN DEADLY RHEA COUNTY CRASH

A Crossville man has been charged in a deadly crash in Rhea County. It happened around 2:30 p.m. Monday. According to WTVC, the Tennessee Highway Patrol says 47-year-old Bradley Netherton, of Crossville, was driving westbound on Highway 68 and crossed the center line. Netherton then struck a 2001 Dodge head-on at the intersection of U.S. Highway 27. The driver of the Dodge, 67-year-old Steven J. Chevalier, of Evensville, was killed. Two of Chevalier’s passengers were flown by Life Force to a Chattanooga hospital, where one was listed in critical condition. Netherton and two of his passengers were also hurt. WTVC reports that Rhea County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Netherton and charged him with Driving Under the Influence Second Offense. The THP says Vehicular Homicide charges may follow.
