A Crossville man was taken into custody on August 5, 2026, after police responded to a disturbance at a local motel, uncovering an active warrant and a cache of illegal drugs, prescription pills, and unprescribed steroids.

Officers with the Crossville Police Department were dispatched to the Super 8 motel following reports of a man, identified as Jason Sexton, yelling at employees, using racial slurs, and making guests uncomfortable. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Sexton in the parking lot, who claimed he was locked out of his room while trying to reach his girlfriend inside room 117.

According to motel management and multiple guests, Sexton had been causing a major scene in the lobby, cursing, and making racial comments.

Management agreed to unlock the room so both occupants could be ordered to leave the property. While assisting, central dispatch informed officers that Sexton had an active warrant out of Knox County, with authorities willing to extradite. He was immediately placed into custody.

Following statements from the girlfriend regarding contraband inside Sexton’s vehicle, officers conducted a search and recovered:

• Approximately 15 grams of marijuana, alongside a scale and two glass pipes.

• A backpack containing unprescribed prescription medications, including Vyvanse (Schedule II), Cyclobenzaprine, and Diclofenac sodium.

• Multiple unprescribed performance-enhancing substances in the trunk, including three bottles of testosterone, three bottles of steroids, and a 50-pack of Anadrol (oxymetholone 50 MG).

Sexton was charged with simple possession of Schedule II and Schedule III substances, as well as possession of a legend drug without a prescription. Both Sexton and his girlfriend were formally banned from the Super 8 motel.

The marijuana, scale, and pipes were destroyed at the Crossville Police Department, while the remaining items were secured as evidence.
