Crossville city officers were dispatched to the area of New Lantana Road Wednesday evening for reports of a driver who may possibly be under the influence. Reports stated the car had even traveled off the roadway.

When officers located the vehicle, the driver was identified as 63-year-old Ronnie Lynn Hamby. Officers noted he was slurring his words and slow with his movements when speaking with him.

While attempting to administer sobriety tests, Mr. Hamby could not follow directions. Officers on the scene reported that Mr. Hamby admitted that he was intoxicated. His driver’s license had previously been revoked for driving under the influence.

Ronnie Hamby was arrested and taken to intake. A search warrant for a blood draw was granted.

He was charged with Driving on a Revoked License and Driving Under the Influence 5th Offense.
