CROSSVILLE MAN GETS BANNED FROM THE SAME GROCERY STORE IN TWO DAYS

On 11/29/22 City Units were dispatched to Food City for a male subject that was asleep in the cafeteria at the table. Officers were informed by staff that the male subject had been coming in and out of the store all day and had gotten aggressive with an employee.

The male subject was identified as David Cobb. After multiple attempts to wake Mr. Cobb by talking and moving him, officers lightly shook him trying to make him respond. He awoke and was extremely slow and lethargic. Officers observed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person.

David Cobb was transported to the Cumberland County jail. While transporting him to intake he was making spontaneous utterances that he demanded the officer to be in court, to call the D.A., kept asking him to smile, thanked the officer for arresting him, and called him a “flying monkey.”

Food City banned Mr.Cobb from the store.

On 11/30/22 City Units were dispatched to Food City for David Cobb being in the store after being banned. He was taken into custody again.
