CROSSVILLE MAN ONE OF FOUR ARRESTED FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKING

A Cumberland County man was arrested in connection to an ongoing human trafficking investigation. An investigation by special agents with the Human Trafficking Unit of the TBI, detectives with the Cleveland, Tennessee Police Department and investigators with the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrests. During the investigation, authorities said they placed decoy advertisements on websites known to be linked to prostitution and commercial sex acts. Officers say two of the four arrested included 50-year-old Timothy Carter of Crossville and 29-year-old Stephen Whited of Sweetwater. Georgia residents 43-year-old Brian Hamler and 45-year-old Donald Thomas were also charged.
