CROSSVILLE PAIR ARRESTED ON ASSAULT, WEAPONS CHARGES

Early Wednesday morning, Crossville police officers were dispatched to an Evelyn Avenue address for a domestic situation. There they met up with 37-year-old Paul Michael Jackson, who stated he had a gun in his backpack and was a felon. A records search turned up a 2016 Tennessee Offender Management Information System (TOMIS ) entry for felony promoting manufacture of meth in Fentress County. Police confiscated the .22 GSG 1911 pistol with 10 rounds in the magazine.

Police also encountered 29-year-old Joshua Darin Hartt of Crossville, who, according to information provided by four witnesses cited in the arrest report, had been “intoxicated, naked and throwing items at” his mother at the residence. One of the items thrown was a picture frame that narrowly missed her.

Officers described Hartt as being intoxicated and unable to tell them what had happened without being belligerent.

Hartt was charged with domestic assault. Jackson was charged with being a felon in possession of a handgun, and was served an outstanding failure-to-appear warrant from Franklin County.
