CROSSVILLE PD ASSISTS CANNON COUNTY DEPUTIES IN APPREHENDING MARLIN

On Wednesday, Crossville Police Units were dispatched to Miller Avenue to meet up with two deputies from Cannon County who were out with a burglary suspect from their County.

Lieutenant Larry Qualls arrived on the scene at the Southern Beauty Center. Investigator Lieutenant Paul Reed and Investigator Lieutenant Billy Crouch came from Cannon County Sheriff’s Office and found a suspect who had committed a burglary and stole tires, rims, and three mini bikes from Cannon County lived in Crossville.

The suspect was located at his job at Southern Beauty Center at the time of Lieutenant Qualls’s arrival. The suspect was identified as Matthew Marlin, and the stolen tires and rims were on his vehicle which was in the parking lot.

After informing Larry Qualls of the warrants signed on Marlin, Sergeant Mangas, and Patrol Officer Charlock went into the business and placed him into custody.

During the Deputies’ interview with Marlin, he informed them of the location of one of the mini bikes.

Marlin’s vehicle was towed to impound for the owner to retrieve his tire rims at a later date.

Marlin was placed into a patrol car and transported to his residence where the deputies and detective John Tollett recovered one orange mini bike and the original engine he had taken off of it.

Marlin was then released to the Deputies who transported him back to Cannon County.
