CROSSVILLE POLICE LOCATE FIREARM NEAR RECREATION PARK
Crossville Police found a pistol in the wood line near the Crossville Recreation Park Wednesday morning.
The incident report states Lieutenant Dustin Lester responded to the area of the horseshoe pits for a call of possible homeless subjects.
No contact was made with any subjects.
Sergeant Crystal Massey took her K9 partner Vallen for a walk and the police dog pulled Sergeant Massey through the gate separating the park from Goodwin Circle and to the wood line.
K-9 Vallen showed interest in the high grass and brush area.
Officers noticed a black nylon type fabric bag and recovered a black shoulder holster with two magazine pouches, and a red and black High Point 9mm pistol.
A check revealed the weapon was not reported stolen.
It was taken to the Crossville Police Department.
