POLICE: OFFICER TAKES EVASIVE ACTION TO PREVENT COLLIDING WITH DUI DRIVER IN CROSSVILLE

Drinking and driving is a bad decision, especially if you cross the center line and go into the path of an oncoming police cruiser.
It reportedly took place in Crossville on Highway 70 East Wednesday night.
The arrest report states the officer observed a Nissan truck operated by 57-year-old Payson Kenneth Bartlett of Crossville cross the center line and come toward him. The police officer took evasive action, swerved to the shoulder of the highway, and turned around. The Nissan would cross over the center line again in front of the bowling alley before the officer pulled Bartlett over.
The police officer reportedly noticed watery eyes, slurred speech, and an alcoholic odor coming from Bartlett.
Bartlett was arrested for DUI, reckless endangerment, driving without a license, and violation of the implied consent law.
