CROSSVILLE POLICE RELEASES REPORT OF MANHUNT FOR WANTED SUBJECT

The Crossville Police Department releases a report today regarding a manhunt  last night for a wanted subject. Officers responded to the parking lot of Goody’s in the Highland Square Shopping Center around 5:30 p.m. There they encountered 24-year-old Jeffery Willis Flynn and 39-year-old Jessica Buchanan. Both were wanted on outstanding warrants. Once officers put Flynn in handcuffs, Buchanan pulled away from police and attempted to run. She was taken into custody after a short struggle. That provided Flynn a distraction where he broke free from officers and ran from the scene across Sparta Highway into a wooded area behind the national guard armory. Buchanan told officers Flynn allegedly covered up a .22 caliber rifle in the truck of the vehicle the two were in. Authorities seized the weapon because Flynn is a convicted felon. Officers searched for nearly 5 hours until Flynn was located on Pinewood Drive after a resident called 911 and reported seeing him. Flynn reportedly had a file in his possession and attempted to break the handcuffs damaging the key hole. Flynn told officers he did not know who the firearm left in the vehicle belonged to. Buchanan was charged with resisting arrest and served the warrant for violation of probation. Flynn was arrested for theft of property, escape, being a felon in possession of a firearm, vandalism and two counts of violation of probation.

The two were arrested in Crossville back in late March of this year after a theft incident at the Citgo on West Avenue and Elmore Road.
