CROSSVILLE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER NAMED STATE SRO OF THE YEAR

CROSSVILLE, TN – On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, the Tennessee School Resource Officer Association held its annual SRO Convention at the Music Road Hotel & Inn in Pigeon Forge Tn. Crossville Police Department School Resource Officer Scott VanRuden was recognized for his exemplary service and named School Resource Officer of the Year.
The Tennessee School Resource Officer Association stated that this is the first time that students have nominated their School Recourse Officer for this award. With participation in school programs and raising awareness of student driver safety, Officer VanRuden has made a lasting impression on the students at Cumberland County High School.
The efforts of Officer VanRuden led his own students to nominate him to receive an award. The dedication of Officer VanRuden is a shining example of commitment, community care and professionalism. He is to be commended and recognized for his extraordinary efforts with the utmost appreciation of the City of Crossville Police Department. Job well done.
