WOMAN CHARGED AFTER SMUGGLING DRUGS INTO JAIL
On Saturday, Cumberland County deputies were contacted by jail staff in reference to drugs being found in an inmate’s jail cell during a search.
When deputies arrived, they observed what appeared to be a light blue powder substance in a baggie along with a quarter of an orange pill later identified as Suboxone. The light blue substance weighed approximately 17 grams and was sent to the TBI lab for proper identification.
Carrie Rector allegedly admitted to concealing the powder substance inside of her person upon her arrival at the jail.
It was also discovered that several other female inmates in the same pod as Carrie were offered Suboxone and Gabapentin as well and did consume the drugs.
After investigating, it was discovered that approximately 7 to 8 hours after Carrie was introduced into women’s housing that she began to offer to share Suboxone and Gabapentin pills and often distributed the narcotics in quarters to other females.
Carrie Rector was charged with the Introduction of a Controlled substance into a Penal Institution ($10,000 bond) and Suboxone ($3,000 bond).
