CROSSVILLE WOMAN CHARGED WITH ARSON

In September 2022, Cumberland County authorities responded to a residence off Sawyer Ridge Road for a structure fire.

While investigating, the Incident Commander stated he did not see anything out of the ordinary. The homeowners told investigators there was only one occupant who was identified as 54-year-old Deborah Lynne Jones. When speaking with Debbie, she said she had left the residence while doing laundry. She stated she knew the washing machine was on, and possibly the dryer. She said she did not know the last time she cleaned out the lint trap on the dryer.

According to the report, Ms. Jones was charged with Arson. She was arrested on the first of March.  Her court date is March 20th.

This was all the information in the report. We will release more information if it becomes available.
