CROSSVILLE WOMAN FACES FELONY DRUG AND WEAPONS CHARGES FOLLOWING DEATH INVESTIGATION BUST
A local woman faces heavy felony drug and weapons charges following a death investigation that led to a narcotics bust in 2024.
According to Cumberland County court documents, Tara Jean Reeves is scheduled for a deadline hearing in Cumberland County Circuit Court on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
The charges stem from an April 30, 2024, incident where Cumberland County Sheriff’s Investigator Mitchell Ward responded to a home at Highland Drive in Crossville to conduct a death investigation.
While on the scene, investigator Ward questioned Reeves, an occupant of the residence. According to the affidavit, Reeves pulled a baggie containing a white powder substance—later identified as fentanyl—from her front pocket.
After securing a search warrant for the home, authorities searched Reeves’ bedroom and uncovered a cache of narcotics and distribution paraphernalia, including:
-
Four baggies of a brown powder substance consistent with fentanyl.
-
Separately packaged Schedule II pills, including Oxycodone and Amphetamine/Dextroamphetamine.
-
Multiple empty plastic baggies and digital scales.
Reeves was subsequently indicted by a grand jury in April 2025. She currently faces three major felony counts:
-
Possession of a Firearm with Intent to Go Armed During a Dangerous Felony
-
Possession/Sale/Delivery of Schedule II Drugs (Fentanyl – .5 grams or greater)
-
Methamphetamine – Manufacture, Delivery, Sale, or Possession with Intent
Reeves is being represented by the Public Defender’s Office and is currently out on a $20,000 bond courtesy of Hoskins Bail Bonding. Her appearance this Tuesday will serve as a deadline hearing ahead of a potential trial.
