CROSSVILLE WOMAN’S VAN STOLEN AFTER SHE LET UNKNOWN MALE DRIVE IT

Cumberland County, TN- On Monday officers responded to the Rest Area off of Interstate 40 at the 324-mile marker for a stolen vehicle. Jennifer Mays, of Crossville, stated she was with David Mayes and another male named Jacob when she stopped at the rest area to go get something from the vending machine. Ms. Mays claimed David and Jacob stayed in her Chrysler Voyager and when she returned, the van was gone.

Ms. Mays claimed that she had just met Jacob the night before and did not know his last name. When she exited her van, Jacob was the last person driving it. Ms. Mays and David had just picked him up in either Crab Orchard or Westel prior to stopping at the rest area. She thought they may be headed to the Tansi area, but then said they may be headed to Ohio.

In the van were Ms. Mays’ cell phone, approximately $350 cash and a card, her purse, clothing, and other personal items in the van. The van is a 2000 white Chrysler Voyager.
