CUMBERLAND COUNTY MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO CHILD RAPE IN RHEA COUNTY

A Cumberland County, Tenn., man has pleaded guilty in Rhea County court to one count of child rape stemming from a grand jury indictment in July 2020.
Andre Vincent D’Agostino, 23, was originally indicted for multiple counts of rape of a child, according to Rhea County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Rocky Potter, but eventually pleaded guilty to one count of child rape in Rhea County Circuit Court.
Potter said the case began in early July 2020, when the parents of a girl under the age of 12 in Roane County reported her missing. During the course of the investigation, Potter said investigators learned that D’Agostino had befriended the girl, drove from his home in Cumberland County to the girl’s home in Rockwood, Tenn., and picked her up.
