This Saturday (January 2, 2021), the Cumberland County Health Department will be offering COVID-19 vaccines to eligible citizens over the age of 75, health care workers and first responders at the Cumberland County Complex at 1398 Livingston Road in Crossville. Please bring a photo identification with you. The vaccine will be offered from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. or until supplies run out. The gates will not open before 8 a.m. and no lines will be allowed to form before the gates open to allow for adequate traffic flow.

The Roane County Health Department will offer the same but you must call (865) 354-1220 to schedule an appointment for the event from 8:30 until 4 p.m. eastern this Saturday (January 2, 2021).

In the updated vaccination plan, the first to receive vaccines will be

  • those primarily working in outpatient health care settings

After first responders and healthcare workers, there are essentially six phases to the state’s vaccine plans and focuses on the following groups:

  • other healthcare workers as well as funeral mortuary workers
  • teachers and staff members of child care centers and kindergarten through 12 grade schools
  • other first responders not covered in the first part of the plan
  • people aged 16 or older who have high-risk health conditions.

The state health department has split age groups into 10-year brackets and will start with people who are 75 years old and older.
