CUMBERLAND CO. DEPUTY HELPS WOMAN WHO SUSTAINED GUNSHOT WOUND IN MORGAN CO.

Cumberland County deputies were advised Saturday that a vehicle was coming inbound on Genesis Road from Morgan County with one of the occupants with an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound. Officers made contact with the vehicle at Slate Springs Cemetery and saw 36-year-old Tabitha Moore from Lancing inside the jeep with a wound to her leg area from a .38 caliber handgun. Deputy Powers applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding. Medics later recovered a bullet lodged in her foot. Moore was treated for injuries sustained.
