CUMBERLAND COUNTY ACCOUNTANT FACES HEFTY $12,253 FRAUD AND THEFT CHARGES IN COURT
A local accountant is scheduled to appear in Cumberland County General Sessions Court tomorrow, June 25, 2026, following allegations that she used her position to steal identities and rack up thousands of dollars in fraudulent charges.
Jessica Lee Arreguin faces two major felony charges stemming from an investigation late last year: Fraudulent Use/Illegal Possession of a Credit or Debit Card ($10,000–$60,000) and Theft of Property ($10,000–$60,000).
According to court affidavits, the investigation began on October 16, 2025, when Patrol Officer Charlock took a fraud and theft report on behalf of Mastercorp. The case was subsequently handed over to Detective Keyton Harthun of the Crossville Police Department.
The breakthrough in the case came when Detective Harthun questioned Arreguin at her residence. According to the criminal complaint, Arreguin admitted to exploiting her role as an accountant for Mastercorp to access the sensitive personal information of her co-workers.
Police state that Arreguin confessed to stealing employees’ Social Security numbers and dates of birth to open credit cards in their names. She then allegedly altered the spending limits on the accounts to $15,000, intercepted the cards when they were delivered to the workplace, and went on a shopping spree.
The affidavit reveals that the fraudulent cards were used locally at the Walmart and Bealls department stores in Crossville. In total, $12,253.94 was reported stolen.
Detective Harthun noted that investigators successfully obtained Walmart CCTV surveillance footage and receipts linking Arreguin to the transactions.
The warrants against Arreguin were originally filed on November 3, 2025, after being sworn in before Judicial Commissioner Greg Watson. Mastercorp has indicated to authorities that they intend to fully press charges.
Arreguin is represented by defense attorney Ramon Damas. Her case is set to be called on Thursday’s criminal docket.
