The Cumberland County Board of Education met in a work session this evening to discuss a contract for the new director of schools, Dr. Ina Maxwell. She was selected by the BOE earlier this month after four were interviewed for the position. The three year contract to be proposed to Dr. Maxwell initially sets her salary at $107,000 annually. The board will receive the final contract by this Thursday (May 21, 2020) when a special called meeting will be held to approve it. The contract for current director of schools, Janet Graham, will expire next month.
