The Cumberland County Board of Education will be presenting their proposed 2017-18 Budget to county commissioners on the Budget Committee Thursday. The proposed budget has revenues of $53 million with expenditures of $55.6 million, a difference of $1.5 million from the 2016-17 budget. This year’s BEP allowance from the state will also make up around $33.9 million. The board will also wind up with a fund balance of $1.9 million which fulfills the state’s 3 percent requirement. The presentation, which will also include the school’s nutrition program, will be held in the small courtroom of the courthouse at 4:30 PM.
