CUMBERLAND COUNTY: CAN-AM CRASHES INTO RESIDENCE
On Sunday, Cumberland County deputies were dispatched to Cox Valley Road for a side-by-side crashing into a residence.
When the deputies arrived, they observed an F250 truck with a trailer attached and a blue Can-Am on the trailer. When speaking with the driver of the truck, Christopher Boggs, he stated he was traveling south on Cox Valley Road toward HWY 68 when the strap holding his Can-Am to the trailer broke. Due to the high winds and curves, the Can-Am began to slide off the trailer, further rolling off to the left side of the roadway, until coming to a rest against a residence and porch.
At the time of the accident, there was no one inside the home.
When investigating the damages to the residence, scratches along the side and broken porch beams were noticed outside. Inside the home was more destruction that included a detached piece of the panel, the kitchen counter being moved away from the wall, and damage to the baseboard.
The Can-Am damages were estimated to be around $2,500.
