CUMBERLAND COUNTY COMMISSION RECOGNIZES LOCAL 4-H CONGRESS PARTICIPANTS
The monthly meeting of the Cumberland County Commission opened with all commissioners present except for Commissioner Wilson. Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster recognized a group of outstanding local high school students who participated in Tennessee 4-H Congress, a premier state leadership and citizenship program held in Nashville.
The program allowed the students to experience government firsthand by debating bills, holding elections, and learning about civic processes, while also developing their leadership skills and understanding of civic responsibility and service.
The Cumberland County representatives this year were Ella Beaty, Hadassah Wade, Chloe West, Daniel Deskins, and Maddox Banegas, accompanied by their adult leader, Carl Deskins.
Mayor Foster expressed pride in the students and appreciation for how well they represented the county.
