CUMBERLAND COUNTY COMMUNITY COMPLEX RECEIVES STATE EARTH TEAM AWARD

The Cumberland County Community Complex (CCCC) and Staff were honored with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) State Earth Team Partnership Volunteer Award at the Tennessee Association of Conservation District’s Annual Convention in Franklin, Tennessee on February 25, 2020.

They were nominated by the Cumberland County Soil Conservation District (SCD) and the NRCS Crossville Field Office for the award.  Both agencies utilize individual and group volunteers to assist with conservation programs and conservation education events and activities which are held at the CCCC.

The CCCC and the SCD are currently partnering on a project to clean up and make improvements to the county’s Obed River Park and Arboretum and have a “Weed Wrangle” event scheduled for March 7 at the park where volunteers and staff will assist with the removal of invasive and undesirable plants throughout the park.

Both NRCS and the SCD greatly appreciate the partnership with the CCCC and consider them a tremendous asset to their conservation work.  CCCC Manager Donnie Moody and his staff do an excellent job promoting the facility and go above and beyond to assist everyone that utilizes the facility no matter how large or small the project or event and provide a great service to our community.
