CUMBERLAND CRASH SENDS TWO CHILDREN TO HOSPITAL

A fatal Saturday crash in Cumberland County sent two children to area trauma centers for treatment. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports that a 2004 Ford F350 truck, driven by 54-year-old Michael R. Scarbro of Crossville, was traveling westbound on Genesis Rd at Wildlife Lane, when he crossed the center line and struck an oncoming 1997 Ford Escort around 2:30 PM. The Escort was driven by 63-year-old Richard Webb of Sunbright, who lost his life in the wreck. Two female children, ages 8 and 10, who were passengers in the Escort, were injured and airlifted to a regional trauma center. The extent of their injuries is unknown. Scarbro was not injured in the crash and charges are pending against him.
