CUMBERLAND COUNTY DEDICATES NEW VETERANS AND FIRST RESPONDERS MEMORIAL

Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster expressed gratitude for the large turnout at the dedication of the new Veterans and First Responders Memorial in Fairfield Glade, where he had the honor of raising the newly created Cumberland County flag.
He highlighted the community’s ongoing respect for those who serve, pointing to existing tributes such as the Veterans Museum, the transforming Memorial Park with assistance from DCI, and the 911 Memorial at the fire department, noting that the new memorial continues this tradition of honoring service and sacrifice.
Foster thanked state and local partners as well as determined individuals who turned ideas into reality, and shared a personal perspective as the parent of a police officer, acknowledging the pride and concern felt by many families.
Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton also attended the event alongside U.S. Representative John Rose, praising Mayor Foster and the organizers, including Phil Smith and Everett Bolin, for making the memorial a reality and emphasizing the community’s commitment to veterans and first responders.
