Cumberland County deputies responded Sunday to the area of Highway 70 North and Mayland Loop for a disturbance.

The arrest report states 31-year-old Joshua Kenneth Garrett of Monterey told officers he took a 2009 Kawasaki 250 motorcycle because the owner did not possess a title for it after Garrett worked on the motorcycle. Garrett then reportedly told deputies he dumped it across the street from the owners’ property near a pond.

Law enforcement located the Kawasaki near the location Garrett provided. The owner was able to show deputies proof of ownership.

Garrett was arrested and charged with theft of property.
