CUMBERLAND COUNTY DEPUTY ARRESTED AND TERMINATED

An off duty Cumberland County Deputy has been terminated after allegedly pulled a gun on a family who had car troubles on the side of US 70 in Crossville.  He was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a hand gun while under the influence.

Here is the release from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department:

Cumberland County, Tennessee– On July 24, 2023, Ron Peck, a deputy of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, engaged in activities, off duty, that not only violated the core values of the Sheriff’s Office but also violated state law. In response to this serious misconduct, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office promptly requested an outside law enforcement agency to investigate the incident.

Upon receiving the findings of the investigation, it was determined that Peck’s actions were in clear violation of the principles and standards upheld by our law enforcement agency. Consequently, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office has taken immediate and decisive action, terminating Deputy Peck’s employment with the department along with his arrest.

“Our law enforcement officers are held to a higher standard because of their profession,” stated Sheriff Casey Cox. “The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office core values are integrity, professionalism, and respect, and we will not allow our officers or employees to perform at anything less than that standard.”  These core values serve as the foundation for our operations, and any deviation from these values will not be tolerated.
