CUMBERLAND COUNTY DOUBLE MURDER CASE HEARD IN CRIMINAL COURT
The case against a Cumberland County double murder suspect was heard in criminal court this morning. Court documents state 46-year-old John Patrick Fields of Pikeville additionally faces charges of aggravated assault and two counts of attempted first-degree murder. The deadly encounter took place in March of 2019 where Fields allegedly killed Makayla Laray Manning and 47-year-old Lowell “Chip” Thomas Simmons, II and caused serious injuries to two others. In court this morning, the case against Fields was continued until May 12, 2020.
