CUMBERLAND COUNTY EMERGENCY DEPARTMENTS LAUNCHING PREPAREDNESS EFFORTS FOR CORONAVIRUS
With the growing number of questions concerning the coronavirus (COVID-19) , Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster, wanted to share information today on the county’s preparedness efforts.
Along with their established emergency preparedness plans, Cumberland County Emergency Management Agency (CCEMA) and Cumberland County Emergency Medical Services (CCEMS) are in continued communication with the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH), the lead agency for any emerging health threats in the entire state of Tennessee. The Tennessee Department of Health advises to:
- Wash your hands frequently
- Avoid touching your face, nose and mouth
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- If you feel ill, stay at home
The most important thing to know is that Tennessee and Cumberland County are prepared. While there are no confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the state of Tennessee at this present time, Cumberland County emergency agencies have daily contact with TDH to coordinate all developing issues.
