CUMBERLAND COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDED TO SEMI FULLY ENGULFED AT REST AREA

On Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 9:34 PM, a state trooper was dispatched to a tractor-trailer that was on fire on Interstate 40 east at the 335.4-mile marker inside the rest area.  The trooper responded to the scene and found a 2000 Peterbilt tractor pulling a 2005 Utility van-style trailer loaded with food items.  The trailer was fully engulfed in flames when the trooper arrived.  The Cumberland County Fire Department responded to the scene to gain control of the fire.  The tractor-trailer was driven by Edward Dean of Mississippi.
