ROBERT FOX FACES COURT HEARING FOLLOWING ARSON ARREST AND MULTIPLE TRAFFIC CHARGES
A 32-year-old local mechanic is facing a lengthy slate of charges in Cumberland County General Sessions Court on Thursday following a multi-month arson investigation and a series of recent traffic violations.
Robert Dexter Fox II was taken into custody on Saturday, July 11, at approximately 4:45 p.m. at the Cumberland County Justice Center. Corporal Jacob Brink with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office served Fox with three outstanding warrants—including one count of arson and two counts of failure to appear—while he was in jail custody.
The arson charge follows an investigation launched in early March by special agent fire investigators with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI). The inquiry was prompted by an anonymous tip regarding a February 27 fire in the 100 block of Tennessee Stone Road.
Following evidence presented by investigators, a Cumberland County Grand Jury indicted Fox on one count of arson. Fox had remained at large since the June indictment, leading the TBI to issue a public appeal for information on his location before his arrest over the weekend.
Additional Criminal Docket Charges
According to court records scheduled for July 16, 2026, Fox is also set to answer to a string of traffic, driving, and misdemeanor charges filed by local arresting officers between April and May 2026.
The docket lists the following additional charges against Fox:
-
DUI (First Offense) and Open Container Violation (Filed May 6)
-
Driving While License Revoked (including a charge linked to a prior DUI conviction) (Filed April 21 & May 6)
-
Reckless Driving (Filed April 21)
-
Resisting Stop, Arrest, or Search (Filed May 18)
-
Display of Registration Plates Violation (Filed May 6)
Fox is represented by the Public Defender’s Office on several of the court entries.
