CUMBERLAND COUNTY MAN FACES MULTIPLE THEFT, VANDALISM, AND FENTANYL POSSESSION CHARGES

Johnathan Kendrick Cravens of Clarkrange, Tennessee, made his initial appearance in court yesterday, and faces multiple criminal charges in Cumberland County General Sessions Court stemming from thefts at Walmart and a later drug-related incident.

On March 28, 2026, affidavits were filed for two separate theft of property incidents involving merchandise. In the first (occurring March 20), Cravens was identified on surveillance video switching price tags from low-cost items onto a K&N Air Filter ($45.88) and Royal Purple High Performance Motor Oil ($37.56), then purchasing them for about $1 each at self-checkout, for a total loss of approximately $83.44. In the second (occurring March 25), he used the same method on a Fastpitch Softball Bat ($76.00) and Lucas Oil Stabilizer ($14.44), for a total loss of about $90.44. Walmart is pressing charges in both cases.

Separate vandalism charges were also filed for each theft, as Cravens damaged the original low-priced items by removing their tags, rendering them unsellable and decreasing their value.

On April 4, 2026, during service of the outstanding warrants at Stonehenge Drive, officers observed Cravens walking away and discarding a tin foil bundle containing approximately 0.39 grams of a blue powdery substance believed to be fentanyl.

This led to additional charges of simple possession of a Schedule II substance and tampering with/fabricating evidence, a Class C felony.
