When 1057 News sat down with Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster this morning, he had a little to say about a number of topics. “I would love to get broadband,” he said of the item topping his wish list for 2019. “Counties all around us have fiber to the houses… Cumberland County deserves better [than we’ve got].”

The mayor also had economic development on his wish list. “I would love to get us a tenant soon in the building pad at the 127 building park.”

He said retail operations are also a concern at the forefront of his mind, and some companies have expressed interest in coming here. “We are being looked at now,” Foster said, without revealing any specifics.
