The Cumberland County Rescue Squad responded to Cumberland Mountain Retreat last night after several residents reported flooding to their houses. The rescue squad also went to Highland Lane after a female in her 50’s attempted to cross a flooded road in her vehicle and became trapped. Officials say no one was hurt in the incidents. The Cumberland County Rescue Squad reminds everyone if you can’t see a road because of flooding, it is not worth it to try to cross. In flooding conditions, keep in mind the familiar phrase, “turn around, don’t drown.”
