CUMBERLAND COUNTY ROAD CREWS PREPARE FOR INCOMING WINTER STORM

The Cumberland County Highway Department, led by Superintendent Stanley Hall, issued a public service announcement today at 8 a.m. to inform residents about ongoing winter weather preparations. Road crews are actively monitoring conditions and roadways amid a wintry mix, with teams out treating and clearing roads to maintain as much safety as possible for travelers.
Drivers are urged to stay alert for slow-moving or frequently stopping highway department vehicles and equipment, reduce speeds, increase following distances, and move over when safe to do so, all to protect both motorists and workers.
The announcement highlights that a large weather system is affecting much of the United States, with their winter operations plan in full effect, though ice presents extra challenges requiring extra caution.
